Drinking Water
Many people have been under the impression recently that drinking water is not as necessary as was made to be the case in the 90’s. The trend of walking around with water bottles was started when some of the benefits of drinking water began to go public and it was published widely that the question “how much water should a person drink per day?” was a simple one. The answer was published as ‘eight glasses or more’. In the 90’s and in the 21st century, many people have taken that to mean much more than eight glasses a day.
Really, How Much?
Many people have begun to re-ask the question “how much water should I drink each day?” because of recent publications claiming that the body does not need as much water as was published in the 90’s. While the body, does, indeed, need about eight glasses of water a day, a lot of that can be extracted from fruits, vegetables, and other foods. Instead of people drinking much more than the recommended eight glasses a day, everyone should be drinking less than the eight glasses per day.
These recent publications have started the avalanche of questions such as “what happens if you drink too much water?” Since so many people are drinking too much water, everyone now wants to know if there are serious problems that can arise from flouting the answer to the question “how much water should a person drink daily?” The actual truth is that when people drink slightly too much water, nothing bad will happen. However, someone who drinks way too much water every day will begin to have problems opposite from someone who does not drink enough water daily.
Advantages Of Drinking Water
The health benefits of drinking water are mainly psychological although many people report overall feeling better when they drink water to an extreme extent. There is no question that being properly hydrated makes people feel better and keeps them energetic; however, the answer to the question “how much water should a person drink every day?” should not be ignored. People should not drink twice that much; if they are, they should be wondering “can you drink too much water?” While the importance of drinking water is real, the advantages of drinking water can be forfeited by exceeding beneficial amounts. And what are the advantages of drinking water, you might ask.
When good water is being drunk, being properly hydrated means having a clear mind, a properly working digestive system and healthy skin. But how much water should I drink everyday is a question that depends on one’s diet. For someone who eats a lot of fruits and vegetables, it might be unnecessary to include a drinking water treatment to their diet. If you eat primarily carbs and protein, the answer to the question “how much water should I drink a day?” is slightly different; the answer is that you should drink eight cups a day.
