Other women think that surgery is only for when other treatments have not been successful in eradicating the cancer. For these women, surgery is only an option when their bodies have not been helped treatments such as chemo and other radiation. What these women are forgetting is that there is also the possibility of having reconstructive surgery for breast cancer long after the initial lumpectomy or mastectomy has taken place.

Women who have seen lumpectomy photos of breast cancer surgery are likely to think that it’s a last resort kind of option whereas women who have seen reconstructive breast cancer surgery photos are likely to think that everything is possible nowadays. Breast cancer surgery early on in the treatment plan does not have to mean that your body will be permanently less feminine. While many people do not like the idea of breast cancer and surgery going together, many modern women are looking to surgery to solve the health problem while strengthening their minds to take care of the psychological effects of breast cancer surgery. Weigh the options carefully, but put your health before your vanity.
